Already since the 90s CONPRINTA Systems are equipped with the IMD Technology ("Individual Motor Drives") in which an electronic line shaft replaces the former imprecise und delicate master shaft. This drive and control system replaces also mechanical parts like gears and clutches utilizing the accurate electronic synchronous run of the servo drives instead.

The electronic line shaft transmits data only and eliminates interference from torque oscillation and vibration. The reduction of components like gears and physical shafts also optimizes accessibility, reduces set-up time, reduces maintenance, and improves reliability. The circumferential and lateral registers are controlled automatically by additional camera and control systems.
